The Role
The Provincial Grand Communications Officer (ProvGCO) is tasked with managing all communications within the Province of Cornwall. This includes overseeing a team comprising three Assistants, a Website Editor and Lodge Communications Representatives.
The role involves gathering and sharing information related to charitable work, events and the achievements of Freemasons in the Province, ensuring it is communicated through a variety of channels such as the ‘Second Rising’ newsletter, social media, the Provincial website, regional media and Grand Lodge publications like ‘Freemasonry Today’.
Additionally, the ProvGCO is responsible for keeping the Provincial Executive Team informed on communication progress, managing a database of local media contacts and facilitating press coverage for charity and community events. Duties further extend to supporting Lodge Communication Representatives, helping them implement initiatives to engage, motivate members and promote Freemasonry in their respective areas.
