Penwith Freemasons were delighted to support the team at Bupa Dental Care in Penzance during their recent 8-hour Charity 'Punchathon'.
The event took place on 5th October at the Penwith House practice on High Street, running alongside 13 other regional dental practices in support of The Mustard Tree, a Macmillan Cancer Support Centre based at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
A standout highlight of the day was the incredible commitment from Ant and his partner, Tegan. Ant gave up his day off to keep the punch bag in non-stop action across an intense 8-hour period. Aiming for 120 rounds, the team organised continuous rotations without breaks to smash their goal, completing 160 total rounds.
Making a Real Difference Together
Local Impact: The Penzance practice surpassed its individual target of £1,075, raising a total of £1,576.
Freemasons Contribution: Penwith Freemasons contributed directly to the effort, alongside donations from local members.
Regional Total:Across the South West region, the initiative raised close to £15,000. With Bupa match-funding the campaign, nearly £30,000 will go directly to support individuals and families facing a cancer diagnosis.
Practice Manager Sarah Burrows expressed her sincere thanks to all who supported and donated to make the event such a resounding success.
